masks

I can be a bit of a nervous ninny. I don't like flying, I don't like dark water, I'm scared of ghosts, but there is one thing that scares me most of all... MASKS. I hate them. Executioner's hoods make me want to cry but the worst of the worst of the scariest are mascaras. Seriously, which is weird because I love wrestling, all kinds. For those that don't know mascaras are the masks worn by Luchadores and for those of you who don't know what those are, google it. So, now that you know about my fear let me share one of my favorite books. Heres the cover...

Yup, scares the crap out of me, but it's an amazing book by an amazing writer. So amazing that even though I want to barf just looking at the cover I keep it out, readily available so I can pick it up and read it anytime I want, which happens to be rather frequently. It's a pretty easy read and it's a fascinating look into the world of luchadores. You can go to her website for more information. In fact, I recommend that you do so right now. Enter the world of Christa Faust, you won't regret it. On a side note, her blog is pretty entertaining so check that out too, while you're there.
** Click on the book and it will take you to amazon so you can get your very own copy, if you so desire...

I don't like masks either.

The thing that scares me most of all are... firecrackers. Is pretty stupid, but I hate them.

When I was a kid I had a bad experience with one of them because almost exploded in my neck. So, since then, I can't stand them. I can get really nervous if there is someone launching them around me although it will be a few metres away from where I am.

Thanks for the book recommendation. Sounds interesting.

im totally impressed with your spanish, ORALE!!!!

I hate "luchadores" and their masks...well, mostly all the "mascaras" I can Imagine; once, I got in the terror house in some "feria" and my friends had to take me out through small hole-door on one side of those rooms; I was horrified!!!...well, I was 10 years old...since then..."mascaras" are like nightmares ;)
Thanks for the links; I have to check the book out.. & it might give me another perspective of "Las Mascaras" :)

yeah, that book is really amazing.

A friend told me about it. When I came across this book, I picked it up, thinking there is no way I`m going to buy it (because of the cover). But then I said to myself: "Don´t judge the book by its cover. It doesn't mean if you don´t like the cover of a book, that the book isn't any good." So I bought the book. And I´m glad I did.
Once I started reading, I did't want to put this book down.

Your recommendation book seems to be very interesting. Because it is high, the evaluation of the buyer can be said to be worth buying it. However, I am afraid of a mask, too. A mask of children of Michael Jackson.

I'm sorry for being a bit absent minded, I don't realize the first time I read your post that you have written two words in spanish.

That's cool, gal!
(Eso está guay, chica!)

Will definitely check the book out, seems interesting. Mike Myer's mask from Halloween always looked a bit too creepy.
If you get a moment, do check my page out, at http://ama-ranth.blogspot.com/

I, for one is hardly afraid of anything. Obnoxious?..I know..lol
Wait until you hear THE ONLY THING that scares the shit outta me..
"I'm terrified of Feathers!..birds, chicken, ducks, feather dusters, anything related to Feathers. I can't even sleep using a pillow that is stuffed by feathers (however comfortable it is), sub-consciously knowing that 'they' are inside the pillow..You don't need to kill me with any sorts of weapon...just throw a chicken at me and I'll instantly R.I.P; joining the Angels from Heaven as we enjoy eating grapes..." Unbelievable, huh?..Well, it's true because I'm already having goosebumps while sharing this with you...

Checking out the book now...

Stay well and cool, gal!
