I once tried to write a poem. I was reading a lot of poetry at the time and it seemed like a good idea. It was terrible. I have read it to exactly one person and she picked out one line and said, "That one's not so bad". She was wrong though, it was so bad, it IS so bad. Every time I read it I am embarrassed by the sheer badness of it but yet, it makes me smile. It makes me smile that I tried. It makes me smile that I completed it. So now I think I should try to complete more things. That's probably a good general rule anyway.

Hey, I always thought my singing wasnt too bad until I heard my voice on my answering machine. Oh God!!! Poetry, like art and beauty is in the eye, or mind of the beholder. But now your singing voice? I am sure we can all tell if someone can sing or not. :) Besides, I am sure your poem wasnt that bad....

I believe that any words that come from your mind or heart make poetry; If it made you smile, hey! then it would make smile others -you should share it here-

quick tip, you should watch the movie: "Love in the Time of Cholera"
that's is poetry ;)

I happened upon your blog months ago. And...it took me until now to find the courage to comment.

"So now I think I should try to complete more things."

Thank you for the words that have spurred me into meaningful action.
