Anyone who has happened  upon my long lost blog from years back knows I started this whole thing to keep my fingers busy while not smoking. It didn't go so well. Eventually I picked up the cigs but kept writing anyway. Well, I need to quit again, this time for real. Any tips?

Just ... stop.

I've been trying to help a friend of mine quit smoking and it's not been an easy task. My advice is find a friend who won't easily get annoyed with you and call them every time you want to smoke, it'll take your mind somewhere else. My friend's doing pretty well and says it helps having someone on her side.

when you crave a cig eat oranges or clementines (npi) until the craving is gone.
if that does not help break all of your fingers...

I would suggest getting a nicotine patch tattoo!

running...sport is always good. Playstation or xbox.
I know it`s hard!
Don`t use pills or a f...ing aid with chemie or whatever. Don`t read books how you can quit.
After one week without smoking go shopping and buy something just for you.

What really hard is... be with friends and they smoke.

Be strong...

Go for a hike. No really, start hiking, walking, running; any sport where your lung capacity is critical, just do it.

And if you can find a competitive ally, you'll work harder to beat their ass.

It worked for me and I've been (cigarette) smokeless for 6 years.

Dude, really? I smoked WAY more than you and I quit. Remember that shit? Even you would bum out on how much I smoked. I know I am King Stubborn and all but it is something YOU need to do. You need to quit because you want to, not because someone else wants you to. Seriously, once I made up my mind it was easy. You have quit other things easily, you can do this too!

That ashtray by your kitchen window? Get rid of it.

Please put gum or candy in a mouth for the change of the cigarette. And write a nonsmoking diary!

I once smoked a pack of Marly menthols in 2 hours and I somehow have stayed away from them for 6 years now. You seem like a strong person, put your mind to it. Dont let this addiction get the best of you. Stick to something more fun, like....Budweiser :)

ive been smokeing since I was 14 and I am now 25, I was never a heavy smoker maybe 4 cigs a day and like a whole pack when a Drank, and i used to drink alot. Well I was forced to stop drinking and it helped me stop smoking. Plus have u seen that anti smoking commericial? the one with the heart valve with all that fatty build-up being sqeezed out of it? That commercial helped lot of my friends put the cigs down.

The kiss therapy. Sign a contract with your love. Each day without smoking you win a kiss and choose the place you want it. It could be a very interesting game ;-)

Take Wellbutrin; it is an anti-depressant that works on norepinephron receptors rather than seratonin (like SSRIs). It also helps increase your energy and decrease your appetite. It works best when combined with regular exercise, which I'm sure you get anyway.

but if you set that picture as your wallpaper, it will just make you think about how awesome it would be to have alligator skin lungs and might not help you quit smoking at all.
